Abstract

The article analyses the use by party-Soviet structures in the conditions of the collapse of the USSR of ethnic, historical, cultural and economic differences of Transcarpathia to form political Rusynism in order to hold power. Only a small part of society supported the disintegration movement of Rusynism, and its ideological foundation was artificially formed from the outside in the circumstances of the determining influence of the Russian Federation. The author argues that the most important proof of the lack of support for separatist ideas in Transcarpathia was the defeat of the "Russian Spring" provoked by Russia in 2014
