dc.description.abstract | Ukraine, a neighbour and partner of the European Union, seeks to respond to migration process, giving it an orderly, safe and non-conflicting course. The formation of immigration policy of Ukraine began after the country gained independence in 1991, during difficult times of transition with inexperienced staff and poor resources. Because of some shortcomings in the legislative and institutionalized regulation of Ukraine’s immigration policy there are many unanswered questions the state has not paid attention to yet, despite the fact that problems are inseparable components of immigration processes and policies of numerous states in the world. The danger to the stability of the EU is caused by the following factors: the unresolved conflict in the East of Ukraine, the annexation of the Crimea, the dangerous sociopolitical situation, corporate and clan-oligarchic corruption schemes and wars, high level of social tension; The pressure of external factors on Ukraine’s internal policy, the unexpected disappointment of Western partners towards the actions of the Ukrainian political class, the continuation of Russian aggression in Ukraine. Under conditions of the current political and economic situation, together with war, the intensity of foreign migration and temporary trips of Ukrainians for gainful purposes may increase. Thereupon the probability of losing part of the intellectual and workforce potential, as a consequence of emigration, will only increase. Contemporary Ukraine remains one of the global and regional platforms for dialogue, with all positive and negative consequences and because of that, the ‘Ukrainian question’ remains on the focus of attention not only among EU countries, but also between global players. | uk_UA |
