Соборність і децентралістські ідеї в суспільно-політичному житті Галичини в умовах незалежності України

Abstract

Adamovych, S., Sobornist (Unity) and Decentralization Ideas in the Social-Political Life of Galicia in Independent Ukraine This article analyses and evaluates the tendencies of unification and autonomy in Galicia. The author argues that, after gaining independence, society did not go through profound consolidation processes, authority and economic power were taken by the elite representatives of the Eastern region of the country, and the issue of the minority status of the Ukrainian language did not vanish, which promoted autonomous ideas among part of the Galician intellectuals. However, the author believes that the major part of the population of the region has sobornist (unity) views regarding the development of society
