Abstract:	Adamovych S. Formation of an unnatural “Novoros” ethnos as a means of disintegration of the Southern part of Ukraine (1990-2004). The articles analyses the attempts of the party in power elite to create an unnatural “Novoros” ethnos in the late 1980s - early 1990s in order to separate the South of Ukraine. The author also studies the renaissance of the “Novoros” idea under the Orange Revolution of 2004. The author argues that any attempts to create a “Novoros” ethos were unnatural and were aimed at promoting the interests of the elites in power
