dc.description.abstractIn the first part of the study devoted to the analysis of political-military activities of Ukrainian Legion during World War I examines the historical, political and ideological features of the prerequisites for the rise of the military formations of the armed forces of Austria-Hungary. Investigates the role and place of contemporary social and political leaders of Ukrainian Galician in the process of creating their own national armed unit within the imperial troops, and investigated mechanisms of participation of Ukrainians in paramilitary companies of Galicia in early XXth century.
