Abstract: The article proves the thesis that fiction is the bearer of historical memory because of their financial, linguistic and symbolic value, primarily through activation discourse of memoryalization: literature speaks in his writings not only about places of memory, but it becomes a place of memory itself. The author proposes to interpret literature as a place of memory, it is necessary to reconstruct the past, active recall that forgotten and marginalized – as a model of cultural memory. The article suggests the literature (as a places of memory) to call a “polyphony of memory”. The author concludes that the text contains clear R. Ivanchuk’s naturalization and anthropomorphization of town because Kolomyia (Torhovytsia) is an autobiographical place – the symbolic equivalent of real geographical place.
