Abstract: The article presents the analysis of the social potential of Protestant view on human dignity from the perspective of Max Weber’s methodological individualism of the sociology of religion. Its properties, structure, and the role of the particular components in the development of the Western type of capitalism have been dwelt upon. It’s been revealed that the inner logic of the development of Protestant ascetic ethics, as well as its doctrine of predestination, led to the formation of the ideas of dignity as the honest fulfillment of one’s professional calling in order to prove one’s being chosen, having a rational accumulating of wealth as its epiphenomenon. The article reveals the possibility of the effective use of social potential of Protestant view on human dignity in the process of the transformation of the Ukrainian society in the after-Maidan period for the productive achieving the standards of Euro-Atlantic civilization.
