Abstract: Socio-economic life of Stanyslavsiv during the First World War (1914–1918). The article examines the socio-economic life in Stanyslavsiv during the First World War. The author analyzed the state of industry, the level of development of trade and services, the devastating impact of military actions on the economic progress of the city. The article also highlights the process of gradual impoverishment of burghers through military actions and measures of the city authorities and the occupation administration to keep the socio-economic situation under control and to provide the most essential material needs of the population for survival.
