dc.description.abstractThe article deals with the semantic and symbolic colour system, its role and purpose of some national costume components. The analysis of ornamental motifs, specific to different Pokuttia regions, has been done. Also, colour semantics and means of artistic expression were considered. Due to the traced changes in decoration and ornamentation, dominant semiotic parts have been foundin the major components of the outfits. The colours with the most noticeable symbolic and magical meaning have been distinguished. Also were studied some floral and geometric motifs, which together with a certain colour make the harmonious whole.uk_UA
