Процес поселення та господарського облаштування депортованих українців із Закерзоння в Івано-Франківській області

Abstract

In the article, the author analyzes the process of economic settlement of Ukrainians displaced from the Polish state in 1944-1946 and compliance with the economic conditions for deportees declared by the Soviet authorities. According to the researcher, despite the government's declared care for the socio-economic settlement of migrants from the Ukrainian lands of Poland, deported Ukrainians in Ivano-Frankivsk region faced numerous problems.Thus, the increase in the number of displaced persons due to quota increases and resettlement from other oblasts provoked a housing problem for displaced Ukrainians, as houses and apartments vacated by Poles were partially seized by locals or were in poor condition. The resettlement process was delayed due to the resistance of Poles who did not want to emigrate. Ukrainians came from Poland often robbed by Polish chauvinists, and in Ukraine they faced bureaucratic difficulties and abuses by Soviet officials, and temporary benefits ended in bringing migrants to the standards of "Soviet" status. The socio-economic disarray of the life of forced emigrants was further complicated by the difficult psycho-emotional state of Ukrainians, whose families during the resettlement were divided and resettled throughout Russified and Sovietized Ukraine. In response, the deportees arbitrarily moved to the western regions of Ukraine and reunited with their families, which caused us repression by government authorities.
